Online Gambling Resource For Backgammon

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

An online gambling resource can be found for just about any game you can think of in the online gambling industry however, I chose to write about the online gambling resources available for backgammon. Just like any other online game the backgammon community is a large one and provides things such as the latest news and tips, if you want to buy an actual set instead of playing it online or you want free downloadable version of the game software, then all of these things and more can be yours by the simple click of the mouse.

One specific online gambling resource for backgammon which is commonly utilized is the websites which provide the necessary information to teach you how to play the game or to help you improve your skills. These particular sites also section out their information, for instance, there are informational pages specifically for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Some backgammon websites offer the advantage of having a section on the same site which teaches you all need to know in order to play the game and be successful. In general there are several online gambling resources which teach the rules and strategies of backgammon so all you have to do is go online, access them, and then you would be well on your way to being a successful player.

Now you know how to play and you’re ready to select a casino to play backgammon in. However, before a player decides on a specific online gambling casino and installs that software they should keep in mind that there must be superb customer service support with two very important traits present; live interactive chats and quick response to your emails. Great customer support is the hallmark of a good casino and can mean the difference between collecting your winnings immediately and waiting three months. There are two types of backgammon online gambling resource software available, there is branded that’s what I have been talking about and then there is commercial. Now even though these two types of software have similar qualities they have a few differences. For instance, if you decide to buy the commercial software you might get a tutorial feature with it but there is no live interaction with customer service representatives. The majority of the branded backgammon software provides it services and software for free however, in the case of the commercial software this is not so.

Therefore if you want to gain access to hard core learning, along with one-on-one playing skills you definitely need to access the commercial software. Another online gambling resource for backgammon players is to buy a good robot also known as commercial software and open an account in one of the branded online backgammon websites. This would put the player at an advantage as they would be able to get the best of both worlds. In closing when it comes to backgammon you would have figured out by now that everything depends on your needs and goals, therefore you need to check all of your choices thoroughly before making an educated decision about it.

Need a Good Turnout For Your Event? Try Event Listings

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

An event is an exciting thing because it brings people together for one common cause. Everyone is there for the same thing and everyone is interested in making it a success. However, the event must be announced in order for all of these people to know about it. If they don’t know about it, then they’re not going to know to come. If they don’t know, then the event can’t be a success.

Another aspect of announcing the event is so that you can pull in as many people as possible. The event organizers know and the people within a community may know, which is great. However, people in a community are not enough. It is only right to invite everyone who may possibly want to come.

There are many events within the United States in which people from different countries attend. Why do they attend? Because they saw an announcement and felt that it was an event that they could really benefit from. When you put event listings out there on the Internet and someone comes from across the world, you have something that makes you feel really good. You feel like you have accomplished something because you have.

Where to submit event listings

There are websites where you can submit event listings. As a matter of fact, these sites are designed just for event listings. All you have to do is list when and where your event is happening and what it is about. That way people can search by date, location, and the type of event that is being held. You can use the search field to search for any criteria that is important for you. You can also simply look at a listing of the most recent events hosted.

There are so many ways in which you can find a great event to attend. For example, you wish to hold an art festival in your town. You have all of these great ideas and people willing to help, but you have to get the word out. You would love it if people from all around the world would come. When people from other countries come to your event, more people in your community may become more interested in what is going on. They’re going to wonder what is so great about your event that people will travel from halfway around the world to be there.

As you’re marketing your art festival, you submit ads and press releases to local newspapers. You send out letters and flyers to organizations. You even make phone calls to art galleries and other artistic organizations to let them know what is going on. Your last step is to then submit to event directories so that people will come across your listing. If they’re looking for “art festivals,” They can simply type in “art festival” in the search field. From there, they will be presented with the search results. All events involving art festivals will be listed and an individual can check out each one to see which they would like to attend. They can look for events close to them or they can look for events that are far away.

Another thing to keep in mind when submitting event listings to directories is to know that you don’t have to stick with one directory. You can list your event at more than one site. This is going to broaden your exposure, which is something you definitely want to do. You want to reach as many people as possible and you can’t do that in just one place. Sure, one place will get you quite a bit of exposure, but not submitting to more than one directory is literally limiting yourself. Why would you want to limit yourself? You’d be a little odd if you would limit yourself in that way.

Types of events

There are different types of events that can be held. The event mentioned above was an art festival, but one type of event that really benefits the most is the fundraiser event. Every event benefits, but fundraisers can be influenced by quite a bit. If you’re in a situation where you need to raise a good sum of money, don’t be afraid to list your event on event listings sites. Go ahead and give it a whirl. Don’t think that people will say, “Oh, they just want money out of us. I’m not going to something like that.” That is a misconception. It is a misconception because people look for fund-raising events. People find satisfaction in attending such events because they feel like they’re making a difference in the world. They feel like they are doing something great. The truth is that they are doing something great. They will travel long distances to make a difference, so don’t discount listing your event on a site because it will make a difference.

You should also not discount listing your event if you don’t think your event is worthy of such exposure. Event listings include all sorts of events. There are family fun day events and even events for senior citizens. Maybe a garden club is going to hold an event. There are none that are too large or too small. If you think only ten people are going to show up, list it anyway. If you already know you’re going to have 200 people there, list it no matter what. Make a difference in your event by giving everyone a chance to be there.

So if you have an event coming up, start listing. You’ll be glad you did when you find out how many individuals showed up as a result of your event listings. You may not realize right now how much of a difference it makes, but you will notice it when people start flooding into your event. Whatever you do, make sure you always reach as many people as you can. Don’t hold back no matter what.

Lotto Lie #5

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

This is the fifth article in the Lotto Lies series. There are many who believe that there are no such things as a lottery number patterns or trends. Therefore, using a computer for Lottery Number Analysis is a waste of time. After all, the lottery is a random game of chance. Right? How could there possibly be any trends? Such skeptics would have a good point except for the fact that the trends are there for everyone to see. Well, at least those that are willing to look.

Lotto Lie #5 – There are no such things as lottery trends.

All right, let’s go looking for some lottery trends.

Prospecting

Now, there are people who possess a unique ability to look at a lottery’s winning number history and see lottery number patterns and trends. They are few and far between and, I admit, I don’t have a clue how they do it. Most people, me included, could look at the winning number history for weeks on end and only hope to find that bottle of Motrin.

If we are going to go prospecting for lottery trends, we are going to need some prospecting tools. Such modern day prospecting is done with a computer and Lottery Software; preferably the Best Lottery Software. We also need to know what a lottery trend looks like. Otherwise, how would we recognize one if we found it?

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words – But, a Graph Is Better.

Let’s start this discussion by making a graph. We’ll use the Lotto Texas 6/54 lottery as an example.

First, for each drawing in the lottery’s history, we’ll select 6 numbers at random and compare them to the winning numbers and see how well we did. If two of our numbers were winners, we would plot a 2 on our graph for that drawing. If none of our numbers were winners, we would plot a 0, etc. When we were finished we would have a nice graph to look at for our effort. We’ll call this graph our random selection graph.

Each point on the graph represents how we did in that drawing. But, how well did we do overall? The easiest way to answer that is to simply average all the points on the graph. This would give us an Average Number of Hits per Drawing. We can use this as a figure of merit. We could compare other number selection techniques to this figure of merit to see if we did better or worse than random number selection.

What should this Average Hits per Drawing be? Selecting 6 numbers out of 54 means we’re selecting 6/54 or 0.11% of the possible numbers. Therefore, we should expect that, over the long haul, we would average 0.11% x 6 correct picks per drawing or 0.67 Average Hits per Drawing. The Average Hits per Drawing for the random selection graph will be very, very close to this number.

Some of you are probably asking, “What was this exercise for?” The purpose was to find the Average Hits per Drawing, 0.67. We can now compare lottery trends we discover to this number to see if the trend is better or worse than random number selection. Now, we know what a lottery trend should look like. If we find a trend with an Average Hits per Drawing that is greater than 0.67, we’re on to something.

Aha! A Trend.

So, do trends like this even exist? And, if they do, how good are they? The answer to the first question is, “Yes; in every lottery, every day.” The answer to the second question is, “Much better than you might expect.” We’re not talking about a paltry 1% or 2% improvement above random number selection. We’re not talking 4% or 5%. We’re not talking 8% or 9%. We’re not talking 11% to 12%. Oh, no. We’re talking 15% to 30% improvement, depending on the lottery.

Excited yet? Let’s look at 249 drawings of the Lotto Texas 6/54 lottery from 4/26/06 to 9/10/08. Since we are looking for lottery trends, we are looking for numbers that are resurfacing in some statistically influential way. In other words, we are looking back into the lottery’s history to select numbers to play in the next drawing. But, where in the history should we look?

This is where a computer with great software is indispensible because it would be virtually impossible to uncover these trends by hand calculation. Well, not impossible, but the drawing is this Saturday and, next month, after working 24/7 without food or drink, when you finally complete the analysis, the train already left the station.

Cycles? Will Bring You Around.

Cycle? 20 has been the best in Texas. Cycle? 20 identifies a place to look in the lottery’s history. That place is 20 drawings ago. By always going to that place to find 6 numbers to play, rather than randomly selecting them, you would have averaged 0.77 winning numbers per drawing instead of 0.67. That’s an amazing 15.5% improvement; a more than obvious trend. It is also statistically relevant and cannot be ignored. Cycle? 19 was a close second at 0.76.

But, that’s not all. Without realizing it was a poor choice, suppose you always selected your numbers from four drawings ago; Cycle? 4. Sadly, it only produced an average of 0.56 winning numbers per drawing. Cycle? 20 outperformed Cycle? 4 by a whopping 37.5%! As you can clearly see, making good decisions is vitally important.

In any other game of chance out there, a 15% to 37% advantage will bring a big smile to any gambler’s face. This doesn’t mean that Cycle? 20 has always produced winners as you can see from the graph in Figure 1. It does mean that over time, it has been the best producer of winning numbers.

I can hear the skeptics out there right now, jumping up and down, saying, “Ya but, that doesn’t mean it will continue to be the best.” True, but these trends have what I call Persistence. They don’t appear overnight nor do they disappear tomorrow. Cycle? 20 is king in drawing 249 and it was king 50 drawings ago (drawing 199) also. That means it was the best choice for the last 50 drawings.

So, if you’re going to play the most difficult game in the world, you need to take advantage of everything your lottery has to offer. Does this mean you’re going to win the lottery? No, not at all. There is much more to it. This is just a simple example to quiet the naysayers, skeptics and critics who try to insist that Lottery Number Analysis is a waste of time and there are no such things as lottery number patterns or trends. So, to join the ranks of the Serious Lottery Players, you’re going to need the Best Lottery Software on the market.

Lotto Lie #6

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

This is the sixth article in the Lotto Lies series. The lottery is a very popular game played by people all over the world. It’s fun, exciting and easy to play and, if played responsibly, it’s inexpensive and not going to cause financial harm to anyone playing. So, when someone asks me for my Best Lottery Advice, I tell them to play the lottery for fun and entertainment.

Playing the lottery is a personal choice and I have no problem with anyone that chooses not to play. However, I’m amused by the reasons that some people give for not playing. That’s why I’ve included Lotto Lie #6 in the series. Lotto Lie #6 is the lie people give themselves.

Lotto Lie #6 – I don’t play the lottery because that’s gambling.

Ooooh PLeeeease!

Now, if someone doesn’t gamble because of some deep, heartfelt religious belief, I’m fine with that and even respect their decision. But, many times I sense that such statements are made by people who believe that they are somehow superior and are staking out a claim to some moral high ground. The fact is they are so out of touch with reality, they don’t even realize they are lying to themselves.

A Morally Superior Checklist

Here’s a partial checklist you can use to help distinguish the self proclaimed moralist from an actual true believer.

#1: Do they have an IRA or participate in a retirement investment plan through their employer? Here they are taking a large portion of their income and choosing which Mutual Fund to place it in. Many people can’t even tell you what Mutual Fund their money is in. If they can, they have probably never seen the prospectus. Their hope is, as it is with most of us, that the Mutual Fund will do well, but there is no guarantee.

#2: Do they invest in any stocks or bonds? Many people take their discretionary income and buy stocks and bonds as a hedge against inflation. Some do it because they fancy themselves as the next Warren Buffet and are going to make a killing on Wall Street. Regardless of their motivation or delusions, there is no guarantee.

#3: Do they buy Gold or other precious metals as a hedge against inflation? Doing so is a highly recommended strategy and, if they have the resources, they should do so. But, as is the case with all things, the prices go up and the prices come down. There is no guarantee.

#4: Do they have Insurance? Now, let’s see. There is Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, Home Owner’s Insurance, Fire Insurance, Flood Insurance, Earthquake Insurance, Subsidence Insurance, Car Insurance, Renter’s Insurance, Boat Owner’s Insurance, Business Insurance, etc. In fact, you can find a short list on Wikipedia of 76 different kinds of Insurance. Insurance is a bit different, though. With Insurance you’re spending money for something you hope will not happen. But, there is no guarantee it won’t.

#5: Are they buying a home or investment property? Anyone who has ever done this was hoping that the property value would go up; not down. Given the resent housing crisis, how many people’s gamble paid off? Prices go up and prices come down. There is no guarantee.

Gambling Means No Guarantee

Insurance Actuaries can tell you what the odds are that you will have an accident on your way to work if you live in Slippery Rock, Arkansas. Therefore, you must be gambling every time you go to work. You are gambling when you go to the super market. Is the meat tainted? We live in a world that is filled with risk and, whenever you take a risk you are gambling. Whenever you spend money without a guarantee, you are gambling.

For those that have so deluded themselves into believing that they have staked out the moral high ground because they don’t gamble, please, do the rest of us a favor. Get in your insured car, drive back to your insured home, see how your IRA is doing, check out the status of your stock portfolio and pat yourself on the back for having the moral strength not to play the lottery. But, spare us the lecture. Spare us the moral platitudes.

So, if you are playing the lottery, the Best Lottery Advice I can give anyone is to have fun, enjoy the game and use the Best Lottery Software you can find.

Look for the seventh article in the Lotto Lies series; “Best Lottery Software – Using software is cheating.”

Lotto Lie #7

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

This is the seventh article in the Lotto Lies series. There seems to be no shortage of skeptics and critics who enjoy expressing their disdain at the use of Lottery Software to improve a player’s chances of winning the lottery. The standard fare of criticisms runs something like this:

• There couldn’t be any lottery trends because it’s a random draw.

• The states make sure that everyone has the same chance of winning the lottery.

• There is no possible advantage because it’s a fair game.

• Using a computer to find the lottery numbers to play is no better than using tarot cards, Ouija board or a fortune teller.

Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, from the analysis of the histories of winning numbers from every lottery, the skeptics and critics fall back on what they think is their trump card. Using Lottery Software is cheating. That’s Lotto Lie #7; the subject of this, the final article in the Lotto Lies series.

Lotto Lie #7 – Using Lottery Software is cheating.

In previous articles in this series, I’ve given a few examples that address the question of the existence of lottery trends. It’s one of my favorite topics. But, in this article, I’m going to resist that temptation and focus on this cheating question.

It’s an absolute certainty that a Serious Lottery Player, properly using a quality Lottery Software product, can improve their chances of winning the lottery. But, is that cheating? NO. Properly preparing yourself before a game isn’t cheating; it’s smart.

The Dow opened at …

Stock Market investing firms around the world have spent Billions of dollars on software that analyzes the OHLC of every stock available for sale. Prior to, during and after every trading day, traders use that software to analyze every bit of data in order to make good decisions for the next day. For these Wall Street firms, security to protect their huge

investment in software, is paramount. Why? If everyone had access to their software, they wouldn’t have any advantage.

So, what is it they do with their software? They analyze what has happened in the past in order to help them predict what will happen in the future. The Best Lottery Software analyzes the past winning lottery numbers to help the player make better picks in the next drawing. So, I ask the critics, ‘Why is it fair for Wall Street, but not on Main Street?

Put $100 on LONA? to Win, Place or Show.

So, what does Horse Racing have to do with the lottery? A Lot! It’s called handicapping. Prior to a race, the starting odds for the race appear on the TOTE board for everyone to see. These initial odds are absolutely vital to the financial success of the track as they are carefully chosen to insure a certain Margin for the track. But, did you ever ask yourself, where those odds came from to begin with. The tracks computers determined the odds for the race base upon the past performance of the horses, the jockeys and a whole host of other factors.

Many professional race track gamblers use their own software to handicap the races. They do this to determine their betting strategy; to improve their chances of winning. Is this cheating? NO. It’s smart.

He’s at the Thirty, the Twenty, He’s Going to Go All the Way!

I know, I know. You’re asking, ‘What does football have to do with the lottery?’ Well, actually quite a lot. Did you ever wonder how the NFL teams determine who they want to draft? You guessed it; Computer Software. Their computers analyze the past performance, stats and scouting reports of hundreds of college football players. The decisions the teams make, based upon their computer analysis, are crucial to their future success. But, is it cheating? Of course not. But, analyzing the past performance stats of all those NFL wannabees is smart.

Now, I could go on and on. There is no shortage of examples I could use to bring home my point. But, there is a caveat to this discussion that I must address.

Buyer Beware

The software you purchase must be the Best Lottery Software. You see, unfortunately, there are many bad apples in the Lottery Software business. If you do an internet search on Lottery Software, you will find no end to the number of vendors marketing their wares. To be honest, most of it is junk, trash, garbage and a total waste of money. That’s why most Serious Lottery Players end up purchasing several different software products before they finally find one that’s worth the money. In fact, on my website, our customers take a Survey, where one of the questions is, ‘How many lottery software products do you own?’ The average for all of our customers is 4. That means that our customers wasted their time and money on 4 other products before they found my website.

So, if you are in the market for lottery software, be very careful. There are only about 4 or 5 decent products on the market. But, only one can be the best.

I hope you enjoyed the Lotto Lies series of articles and found them useful. For more information, visit my Lotto Blog where I discuss how to improve your chances of winning the lottery. Come and visit, you’ll learn at lot.

How to Select Online Gambling Casinos

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

How do you select the right online gambling casinos? This is a serious dilemma as if you choose the wrong casino for the wrong reasons it could result in you having serious problems at the end of the day. Seeing that the gaming industry is so huge and it provides so many different online gambling casinos, the process of selecting one can be tricky if you don’t have the following guidelines.

Step one; you need to locate reliable online gambling casinos. Therefore you should go online and do a search for the websites which provide this information with tips from experienced gamblers. Once you see a casino that you like then you thoroughly check it out before actually signing up. Your best bet would be to choose a casino that has been around for a while, as a new casino can fold, which simply means you losing all of your deposits and winnings. Step two; search for a casino with a good payout percentage. This percentage is determined by the number of games vs. the amount being paid out. Ensure that this payout percentage applies to the games in which you play and not to the website as a whole.

Step three; choose online gambling casinos that provide superb customer support. If this trait is poor or lacking at an online gambling casino move on to a different one immediately as high quality customer service is a must. When I say superb customer service, I am talking about quick response to emails as well as live chats, in which all of your questions or queries can be addressed. Step four; choose online gambling casinos that have a wide variety of games, because remember you are gaming online therefore you can play more than one game at a time. However, this is totally up to you if you like a specific game and only want to sign up with that website then the final decision is totally up to you.

Step five; search for online casinos with great bonuses and payment systems. These two features are very important, let’s first deal with the bonuses, these are here to encourage to play at the site and some online gambling casinos offer some great bonuses so search properly. As for the payment systems, you need to be able to access it and understand everything there is to know about it as this is the way in which you put in funds and withdraw winnings, so it’s a very important aspect of gambling online casinos, most gambling sites will deposit your winnings directly on your credit card, this is probably the easiest and best way of receiving your payouts.

Step six; get a good software package, this simply means that the website should be easy to use and to navigate through, also you should be able to play a few games to see how everything is working before actually creating an account or depositing money with them. In closing, the best thing when selecting online gambling casinos would be to seek the help of the professionals, and their services are made available to you on the internet.

Overview of Some of the Optimal Fly Fishing Excursions in Alaska

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

The Ultima Thule Lodge in Wrangell-St. Elias (ultimathulelodge.com)

Featured in the National Geographic’s Ultimate Alaska issue, Ultima Thule Lodge is renowned for its luxury service, knowledgeable staff and experienced bush pilots. The lodge is fly-in only and located in the expansive Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.

The lodge can arrange almost any type of day trip, but a lot of their focus is on fly fishing in Moose Valley. However, if your interest is fishing, make sure you book in advance to get there during the peak salmon migration period.

By offering alternative day trips and other activities, Ultima Thule Lodge has set itself apart from the competition. Whether it’s a corporate retreat or family vacation, guests can choose between hiking remote glaciers, rafting the rapids or spending the day fishing.

However, if you and your group want a more rustic or self-catered experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Ultima Thule is known for luxury, not wilderness expeditions.

Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge in Kachemak Bay (sadiecove.com)

Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge is situated right in the middle of the beautiful Kachemak Bay, an area known for its fishing. The eco-lodge uses wind, hydro and solar power, and prides itself on being one of the greenest hotels in the country. Its amazing systems and accommodations have been featured in National Geographic, Forbes’ Traveler, the Discovery Channel, ESPN, the Fishing Network and more.

They arrange everything from photo safaris to fully customized Alaska fly fishing trips, while pampering guests with an in-house chef, on-site sauna and incredible scenery. Despite the amenities and commitment to sustainability, the rates at Sadie Cove are fairly reasonable. They start at about $400 per night per adult for an all-inclusive stay - meaning three meals a day, use of lodge facilities, a private cabin, and fishing equipment. However, private fishing charters or fly-ins do cost extra.

Drifter’s Lodge on the Kenai River (907-595-5555)

If you’re looking for a more rustic experience that centers it attention almost exclusively on fly fishing, Drifter’s Lodge is a great choice. The lodge offers a more down-to-earth Alaskan experience and has been featured in National Geographic, the Lonely Planet and Time magazine. For fly fishing, their draw is on the fall season when the trout are at their peak.

The lodge employs expert, local guides who know the best spots on the Kenai River and the perfect flies and casting techniques. Their catches and trips include Alaska salmon, Dolly Varden trout and, of course, rainbow trout. With on-site lessons and guided expeditions, some of the best Alaska fly fishing trips can be found right here.

Alaska is a geographically large state, and there are many great fishing lodges nestled into this beautiful region of the world. However, you won’t go wrong in selecting any of the three described above. Each has a staff of skilled personnel whose job it is to help make your fishing experience one of the most memorable in your life.

Types of Gambling Online Bonuses

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Gambling online bonuses are one of the many reasons that individuals play at online casinos. Now there are several different types of gambling online bonuses made available today because of the growing competition among the online casinos. Therefore it may be a bit difficult for some players to remember and understand the various gambling online bonuses; this article is an attempt to help you with this problem. Also once a player fully understands the various types of gambling online bonuses they will be in a better position to choose the ones that best suits them.

The first on my list of gambling online bonuses is ‘welcome bonuses’. These types of bonuses are simply as the name states it welcomes the player to the casino. These welcome bonuses can also be referred to as sign up bonuses, they are used as a means to entice players to visit and participate at the site. The majority of these bonuses seem like they are too good to be true but you have to keep in mind that they are trying to encourage individuals to come to the website therefore you should definitely check it out is it actually could be worth your while. There are several forms of these welcome or sign up bonuses and they are as follows, ‘a match bonus’ this is where the online casino matches the first deposit made by the player by a certain percentage; however the percentage depends on the casino. Then there is a ‘no-deposit bonus’, this is only offered at certain websites, players do not have to make any initial deposits.

The second on my list of gambling online bonuses is ‘monthly bonuses.’ Once a player accesses a particular online casino and likes what they see it would most likely mean that they would continue playing at this particular site. Therefore to ensure that players keep coming back to the site, the online casino would reward them with these bonuses which are offered once a month. These monthly bonuses are also referred to as a reload bonus because they are activated only when players decide to replenish their accounts. These bonuses also work by percentage basis just as in the instance of the welcome bonuses.

The third on my list of gambling online bonuses are ‘high-roller bonuses.’ This bonus would be made available to players who bet large sums of money. Some forms that these high-roller bonuses can take are getting extra money for depositing and playing on the website, VIP clubs and quite a few other incentives.

The fourth on my list of gambling online bonuses is ‘payment method bonuses’. Reliable online casinos provide a broad range of payment systems through which players can deposit and withdraw their funds. Even though several payment systems are made available to the players, the website may want the players to use a particular system and therefore a bonus would be offered if that specific method is used as a form of persuasion. In closing, we can all agree that the online gambling industry is a great place to have fun, also, in addition to these gambling online bonuses it makes it seem an almost irresistible option.

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

This article is aimed at providing beginners with a gambling online guide, which will assist them in their journey into the exciting and pleasurable world of online gambling. Once you are an enthusiastic internet user, I am sure you have noticed that the online gambling industry has grown tremendously, and at present it is offering some great gambling opportunities. But you have a serious problem you don’t know where, when and how to access these sites. Well the answer is here! Check out a gambling online guide for beginners. Casinos are a lot of fun and provide hours of relaxation once you know the fundamentals of it, and don’t worry it’s easy to learn.

First things first, comprehending how to choose a reliable casino that satisfies your desires would get you one step closer to having a great time when gambling online. This process may take a little while but it is definitely worth it, because if you choose the wrong casino you could end up in serious trouble. First point in my gambling online guide for beginners is do not select the very first online casino you come across , what you need to do is to visit several online casinos and check them out thoroughly, before making a final decision.

Another point in my online gambling guide would be if you are searching for online gambling opportunities you need to check out the games that the casino has to offer. This point needs to be taken into consideration, because if the player doesn’t know how to play the games then how can they be expected to make a profit from making uninformed gambles on this game. In addition to this point the player should like the games they are going to learn, as online gambling is a form of recreation and this would help them to learn faster and more efficiently. Therefore, you need to check through the list of games available and if it’s not to your liking then simply move on to the next casino.

The final point in my online gambling guide for beginners is to check out the types of banking options that are available to you via that specific casino. Even though you are playing for fun, this point is very important as when you win if you don’t have the appropriate type of account to access it, then you won’t be able to collect said winnings. So my advice would be that this should be your third step when accessing an online casino. Again just as how you checked out the online casinos thoroughly to see which ones are reliable and suits your needs best, you need to do the same thing when it comes to payouts and customer service. In closing, you need be careful, and the only way you can do that is by being properly informed, so ensure that you do your homework when it comes to online casinos and remember online gambling is fun and pleasurable, once done in a safe environment and in the correct way.

Sharpening Hunting Knives

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

Being prepared is the keystone to any successful hunting trip. That means having the right gear ready when you need it. It also means having that gear in working order for the tasks at hand. You can own the most expensive hunting knife on the market but if it is not properly sharpened, it will be useless. Knife sharpening is one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of hunting trip preparedness. With just some basic sharpening knowledge and a couple of simple tools, however, any hunter can be sure to have their knife ready.

Testing Your Blade

A number of simple tests exist to test the sharpness of your hunting knife. Some outdoorsmen test a knife’s sharpness by shaving a small patch of hair on their arms or hands. This test is quick and effective but, let’s be honest, a little dangerous for a novice. For those not confident that they can tell their blade is dull, there are blade edge testing kits available at through outdoor equipment retailers. These kits can be expensive.

Experienced hunters can often tell if a blade is dull just by looking at it. To visually look for dullness, hold the blade with the edge in line with a strong light source and move it back and forth a bit. If you see a reflection or glint then you have a dull blade. If all else fails, walk into your outdoor goods store and ask a professional to help you assess knife sharpness.

The Right Tools

Once you have concluded that your knife needs sharpening, you will need to get your hands on the right sharpening equipment. Sharpening stones are effective, commonly used, and come in a variety of styles and sizes. When purchasing a stone, look for one made from compounds with a relative hardness of 9 or higher. Stones made from bonded aluminum oxide or silicon carbide work very well, as does silicon carbide sandpaper glued to a wooden block or something similar.

A sharpening guide is a clamp-like tool that attaches to the blade of the knife and aids in controlling the angle of the blade. This may be helpful for notice knife sharpeners because they are the only way to guarantee an accurate sharpening angle. More advanced hunters may find them unnecessary.

Sharpening The Blade

There are two basic steps to correctly sharpening a blade. The first is to develop a burr, or, a rough, ragged edge on the surface of the blade. Once that is created, the blade then needs to be polished until the edge is smooth.

To develop a burr, first set the angle of the blade correctly and then grind one side until you have removed the old edge. Continue grinding until you can feel the burr with your thumb; it should feel jagged and serrated. Once you have a nice burr on one side, flip the blade over and raise a burr on the other. Keep in mind that some knives (ceramic and very hard steel primarily) will not raise a burr. If you’ve tried raising a burr on your blade without any success, you may have one of these kinds. Consult a professional for information on sharpening these blades.

Once you’ve raised a burr on your blade take the time to put some finishing touches on your knife by polishing the blade. There are three basic polishing strokes you can use to finish the sharpening process - on-stroke, off-stroke, or circular strokes. The off-stroke is the easiest technique for beginners. Begin to grind away the burr made by the first stone you used. The burr should gradually begin to fade. Once it is almost undetectable, switch to the circular stroke and finish grinding off the old scratch pattern. Finish up by using light strokes to get rid of the remaining burr. At this point your blade should be extremely sharp, with no burr and only micro-serrations.

Don’t be afraid to ask professionals for help. Woodworkers and butchers are usually more qualified in the art of sharpening than knife makers or collectors. Ask one in your area if they can assist you or provide you with some simple techniques.

It is important for all your hunting tools to be in prime condition before you go on a trip, and your knife is no exception. With these tools and proper techniques you can effectively sharpen your knife before or during your trip and not have to worry about the problems a dull blade can cause.
